Out with the old…

When we do full arch cases, one of the things we do is try to sculpt the smile to someone’s face. We use photos of their smile, their current teeth, and often prom photos to try to bring back their perfect smile. When we first met this patient, his current teeth didn’t give us much guidance as to where things should go. So we did our best to match a smile for his face!

A smile to be proud of!

The biggest challenge was that his old gold bridges were moving, so we had a hard time establishing his bite. Since his upper teeth had been like that for a long time, his lowers had flared out, making it more difficult to recreate the bite.

Before – Close Up

We only placed 4 implants on the upper arch since the AP spread was so great. We scanned him and made temporaries, which he wore for 3 months. While he was healing, we got his lower teeth cleaned up and replaced some old crowns on the lower posterior.

Now, with his final uppers installed, he told us he can finally smile (we may have told him a few jokes though!)

Reconstructions like this are not possible without the partnership with a lab that not only nails the final ceramics, shape, and color – but understands the function and bite, and works with you to get all the details just right. Shoutout to @SYNrGLab for their help putting this smile back together!
