Clinical Tips: Introduction

We are going to start a new avenue of education and posts called clinical tips, where we go through and highlight how we fix teeth, smiles, bites, and more! We focus a lot on ‘full mouth’ or ‘full smile’ dentistry with Implants and Hybrids and ‘All-On-4’ type treatment, but at PDI our doctors work just as hard planning and executing out impressive work on a microscopic scale inside each and every tooth! Dr. Bishop (a proud Enneagram Type 5) will walk you through these posts – but the content may be from any of of the PDI team.

Lots of single tooth dentistry such as root canals, crowns, onlays, and fillings are incredibly difficult – and there is a vast difference in the quality of care that can be provided to you. These series will outline some of our workflows, how we fix things, diagnose things, and what we find when we do procedures and some of the tips and tricks to making sure that the dentistry is done the RIGHT WAY the first time!

Our intro: Rubber dams! All of our restorative procedures are done under them, they are the blue latex glove colored items you see around the teeth in our posts. We will highlight it more. But by utilizing rubber dams we ensure that microbial contamination is minimized, and that the tooth stays dry – which is critical for optimal bond strength to make sure things like white fillings, or composite fillings, stay glued to your tooth!”
