Full Mouth Makeover

Upper and lower hybrids, individual zirconia crowns on a titanium structure! An excellent option for patients who find themselves with a questionable or poor prognosis for tooth-born crown and bridge.

This patient had terrible dental anxiety after a bad experience as a child, and wanted a solution not to be patched back together.

We chose to do individual zirconia crowns on a titanium substructure for this case for longevity – since the titanium is milled to fit the implants, we can change the composite gums (YES – composite gums!) or re-cement the crowns if something were to break. This is a huge contrast to a monolithic zirconia restoration – which is non-repairable, but rather has to be replaced if it breaks (it typically fractures rather catastrophically!). Here, the weakest link will be the cement – although not weak at all, we have actually never had one have a crown pop off! If it does, any dentist can quickly re-cement the crown no matter where the patient is in the world!
