Single Implants vs Hybrids

This case hits me differently. This amazingly kind patient had been through it — he had many implants before, they were just done with the mindset of single implant dentistry.

His dentistry was falling apart, his crowns breaking, and his implants failing. Every time a tooth broke, they would just add another implant! Seems logical right?

Well no one ever took a step back and analyzed why all the dental work he had done was failing. It is all because of his bite! So many dentists fail to look at the WHOLE PICTURE – and rather zoom in on one tooth and one failing restoration. His pictures make the situation quite clear, the teeth have quite a collapsed bite, and were not restored level. If we can fix his bite, we can fix his situation!

Sadly, some of his single implants were placed recently, and in the wrong spot! Especially in the mandibular anterior, it would have been way too invasive and risky to remove them, so we had to use them. This made our bone reduction not level, but thanks to our friends at Synrg – we could do a titanium reinforced lower prosthetic to keep things strong and stable!
